Online Learning Programs at Fremont College
Fremont offers online learning programs in accounting, human resources, and internet marketing. The programs are offered on an associate’s degree level. Fremont online students interact with their peers and instructors through its unique instructional methodology, Professional Action Learning Online, to make courses engaging and interesting. Students read text, listen to audio, and watch streaming video lectures. They use message boards and complete group projects and then have the opportunity to “teach back” to their class by recording videos and receiving feedback. Students maintain a journal and archive their knowledge.
What's Unique at Fremont College
Fremont College's teaching philosophy is based on research conducted by Dr. Sabrina Kay in her studies at USC and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Combining theories on human brain mapping, motivation, learning styles, and thinking methodology, Professional Action Learning® (PAL) attempts to teach students using a variety of instructional techniques beyond the standard books and exams. A 6-step process, PAL's goal is to improve student engagement and expand the learning experience, regardless of the students' academic history or background. The methodology involves guest speakers, videos, hands-on skills practice, group discussion, questions, dialogue, and student presentations. The College also follows the immersion education philosophy, where students focus on a single course at a time in order to focus on the subject matter before moving on to the next topic.
