Goals:

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be prepared to:

Instructor Bio: William J. Parlapiano

William J. Parlapiano III, CIAQ is the Dean of Green. His duties include workforce development and management consulting services to trade contractors, remodelers, builders, trade associations, educational organizations, utilities and government agencies.

He is the founder of the Alliance for a Green Collar Workforce an organization dedicated to bringing attention to the growing need for qualified workers in the green building, green remodeling and green building trades. Bill is a principal consultant with Better Buildings, Inc. of Santa Ana, California. His professional experience includes service in the United States Army developing and flying airborne intelligence systems. He has served in technical, staff level and executive management positions as a mechanical contractor. He has also been an HVAC, IAQ & building science consultant. His experience also includes work as a project manager with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and he recently departed his post as the Chief Executive Officer for the Building Performance Institute, Inc. He holds a bachelors degree in marketing and management from Siena College and has studied mechanical engineering and professional aeronautics.

He currently serves on the board of directors for ACI: Advancing Home Performance, Home Energy Magazine and is the International Director of Region 2 for the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. He recently completed a term of office on the board of directors for North American Technician Excellence (NATE) and was a six term local RSES chapter president. He is certified in Indoor Air Quality and NATE certified in multiple specialties. He serves on the NATE, ARI-ICE and BPI Technical Committees, as well as the ANSI-ACCA 5 Quality Installation Standard Committee, and the Path 36 Technical Advisory Panel. Bill is a regular presenter at conferences and events, an instructor for trade association programs, has written for a text book publisher, and has co-authored other publications. He is an active member of ASHRAE, ACCA, RSES, ICC, IBPSA, NFPA, CARE, ASIA and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
