Tip #2: Get Your Family To Pitch In With Your Online Degree
It’s time to put your family to work! Getting an online education can be a family effort. While you may be the only one who can earn the grade on assignments and exams, that doesn’t mean they can’t help in other ways:
- Sharing chores: Washing the dishes, mowing the lawn, cleaning the grill… all of that takes up time, time you could be using to watch lectures, study, or work on an assignment. Share your chores with family members, doing what you can when you can and maybe swap your responsibilities for less time-consuming ones. Warning: do not dump your chores on family (I doubt they’d appreciate that).
- Helping you study: Whether it’s physically quizzing you with flash cards or just giving you some “alone” time, your family can help you create an environment that’s conducive to studying.
- Fitting you into their schedule: You most likely spend a lot of your time working around your family’s schedule, twisting around for book club, school plays, and team practice. Ask for them to return the favor and schedule set times every week that everyone knows are your time to focus on your online degree. For your family, this means no chauffeuring from you, less distractions from them, and even mutual studying time.
